Fifteen Months

Saylor is definitely a toddler now.  She's getting so big, starting to say lots of different words and showing her attitude a little more each day.  Her favorite things to do this month are to chase her dad around the house, climb in and ride anything that she can be pushed in, and break out into a dance the instant she hears any kind of music.  She doesn't really watch T.V. but she does like the Doodlebops! She's still a good eater and can somewhat use a spoon and fork effectively.  She loves to eat and carry around a whole apple even if it's been started hours earlier. She also loves animal crackers, bananas and popcorn. She still has a really bad habit of banging her head on purpose (not sure what that is about.)  She can say a lot of new words but her favorites are "hot," "hi," "buh-bye," "coat," "shoe," "oxs" (socks), "upf" (up,) "ickle, ickle ickle" (tickle, tickle, tickle,) and of course "na, "no," and "nooooaaaaahhh" all various forms of "no" which are still cute at this point, but we agree it was much easier when she didn't have as much of an opinion.  She can imitate a sheep, kitty, dog, fish, chicken, monkey, eagle, and owl.  She can also point to each one of her cousins correctly on pictures.  She finally figured out that I am mom and she is Saylor, although she will still point to herself and say "ma" if we ask her where Saylor is.  She's getting pretty smart.  If anything is routine she knows exactly what to do whether it be changing the garbage bag in the kitchen or instantly laying on the ground if we mention changing her diaper.  Somedays she can let us know if she needs her diaper changed by tugging on it.  She can throw away her own diapers, wipe her mouth, brush her teeth and run to the door to help let Milo outside.  She's got a mouthful of teeth and her hair is finally starting to grow.  Most of the time it is up in pig tails which makes her look so grown-up.  This month she's spent the majority of her time at basketball games. We are very thankful for grandpas, grandmas and Maria who help entertain her during games.  She's been a real trooper averaging 4 games a week and very late bed times.  We've had to purposefully stay home from some basketball games so Saylor could have a "normal" night at home, but "normal" is not staying home!  Our favorite part of her is her sweet personality.  She still has random belly laughs, loud giggles, and likes to give real hugs and real kisses that are the best!

11 pm after a late night game.  No one is ready for bed.
