20 months

This month has been confusing for Saylor, her robins, and everyone else.  One day we are outside in shorts and a t-shirt playing on the swings, going for walks, and playing on the driveway or even in her swimming suit and playing in her pool.  The next day we have no school and are playing outside in snow pants and snow boots building a snowman.  Regardless, Saylor enjoyed activities in both the cold and nice weather as long as she was outside.  Her favorite activity outside seemed to be going down slides or riding on swings.  She also has enjoyed going to Daddy's track meets, playing with cousins, building towers with legos, "cawering" (coloring,) biting her fingernails, and watching Mickey Mouse.   She is starting to talk in longer phrases and even some short sentences.  She likes to put a "yaaa" on the end of many of her phrases or ideas.  For example, she will say, "cut it, yaaaa" or "Tamie's house, yaaa."  She will also add a "too" to the end of sentences like, "mommy sit down, too."  She still loves to read books especially Curious George and dance and sing to the "Bumblebee Song."  She pretty much knows all her colors and some basic shapes.  Her nighttime routine includes a bath, reading books, and drinking water and then being put down in her crib, but she is going through a long phase of waking up in the middle of the night angry, screaming, etc.  She can climb out of her crib so letting her cry it out isn't really an option.  She always ends up in bed with mom and dad and is a huge pillow hogger!  Unfortunately, this seems to be lasting longer than just a "phase" so a big girl bed seems to be in order this next month.  Our most dreaded phrase to hear is "blanket on."  We can't seem to figure out what that exactly means to her since the logical solution of putting her blanket on doesn't seem to do the trick.  It's so fun to be with her every day and watch her start to understand how things work and discover and learn how to say and do new things.  It seems like every day she is doing or saying something new. She's definitely got an opinionated, silly, and boisterous personality.   We have several trips planned for the next month with some possible nights away from mom and dad (first time) and some airplane trips.  We can only imagine how this will go...
