23 Months

Saylor has become very independent this month.  She'd rather walk herself than ride in the stroller, she finally learned how to pedal her trike by herself all the way down the street, and she knows how to manipulate the iPhone and iPad pretty much as good as her parents.  She continues to be a chatterbox and talks in full sentences when you are alone with her but tends to be quiet with other loud children (i.e. Cousin Ryan and Emily) or strangers.  She says "my" instead of "I," so for example, "my do it." She also puts a "though" after a lot of her phrases.  "My want to stay here, though." She calls every meal "supper" so when she wakes up in the morning she says, "My want supper now!" Counting is still 1, 3, 3 no matter how many times you tell her it's 1, 2, 3.  The potty training is still a work in progress (if any progress.)  She knows very well she gets candy if she goes on the potty and it works sometimes but no real progress.  She loves George, Clifford and Mickey Mouse in books or TV.  She also loves sweet corn.  Sometimes she has a hard time waiting for it to be cooked so she'll just eat it raw.  She likes to go swimming and will willingly go under the water and jump into the pool and lily pads.  Her other favorite things to do are to be outside and go to Grandma's or Nana's.  She likes to ride her trike, watch Daddy kick the football, color with sidewalk chalk, play in sandboxes and pop water balloons. She is still taking a 1.5-3 hour nap after dinner and mostly sleeping through the night in her queen bed.  We had a fun summer together, but honestly, she is getting bored at home spending most of her time with just us.  She will have fun playing and seeing other kids every day and getting to visit her Grandma's once school starts. We are looking forward to the next few months when we will be going to Uncle Josh's football games including a trip to Arizona, watching volleyball and a birthday party!
