2 Years Old

Happy 2nd Birthday Saylor!  Almost all of the time you will see Saylor in her signature Nike hat which she absolutely loves and asks to wear.  On Sundays or for special occasions she wears pig tails but otherwise she wears her hat all day, everyday.  Her personality is mostly outgoing and silly as she continues to be a chatterbox when she gets comfortable around people.  You can often hear her starting a phrase with, "Shall we..." for example, "Shall we read this book?"  She also likes to sing, "for the BIBLE tells us so" and she loves to dance while performing somersaults and spins.  Some of her other favorite things to do are go to the park, ride her trike, read books, swim, play with legos, golf, have her piggies painted, play ipad, play in the dirt or sand, play with her cousins, and go to Grandma and Nana's houses.  Her favorite T.V. shows are Curious George, Clifford and her favorite is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  She likes almost all food but is especially loving applesauce, fruit snacks, and chocolate milk right now. She makes eating out pretty easy as long as you can eat quick.  She loves Subway, Chipotle, Los Tulipanes or really anywhere you take her (we don't have to do the McDonalds thing!) She's been such a good sleeper in her big bed.  She usually takes a bath around 9 pm, reads books and then goes to bed.  We wake her up on school days around 6:50 but usually sleeps in until 8:30 on weekends.  She takes a nap sometime in the afternoon for about 1.5-3 hours.  Saylor has been a pretty easy kid.  She's been healthy, happy, and easy to please.  She gladly goes along and thoroughly enjoys going wherever we take her.  In her two years she's been to more volleyball, basketball, football and softball games and even track meets than most people go to in their lifetime.  She's always been a great traveler whether it's on a long car ride or airplane.  This has allowed her to travel to Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Florida, Indiana, and soon to Colorado, Arizona and North Dakota along with numerous trips to Minneapolis and Des Moines.  She does have a nasty habit of biting her fingernails that we can't seem to break.  It's so bad that sometimes we find her biting her toenails or grabbing our fingernails to bite. There isn't too much she doesn't like but she's not a fan of someone being sweaty.  She will not go by them and tell them they are "all wet" and often says"take shower, Daddy" which is most likely why she is scared of Uncle Josh after his football games.  She's wearing mostly pull-ups and has good and bad days with potty training.  She can go a whole day dry and the next not go on the potty once.  She has a great memory and can not only point to NBA players when asked where they are, but now she can tell you their full names when you point to them and ask who they are.  Some of the players she knows are Michael Jordan, John Stockton, David Robinson, Shaq, Vlade Divoc, Reggie,  and Sir Charles (all oldies.)  While she excels at this, counting is not her thing.  She absolutely will not say 1, 2, 3.  It's usually 1, 3, 3.  Maybe next month... or year...it's good to have goals and we'll continue to work on this one but so hard for two parents that are teachers.  Regardless, we absolutely love you Saylor Grace.  Happy two years!
