Chicago

This weekend we went to Chicago to watch Uncle Josh play football against Northwestern.  We left on Thursday night from Sioux Falls with Grandpa and Grandma Vander Maten.  Saylor had her first plane ride and acted like a seasoned traveler.  Grandma picked out the BEST hotel to spend the next three nights.  On Friday we had lots of fun walking down Michigan Avenue, riding the ferris wheel on Navy Pier, eating deep dish pizza, and going to the top of the Willis Tower.  At night we went shopping for a little bit at the Glenview Town Center.  On Saturday we went swimming and then headed to Evanston to see USD play Northwestern.  It was fun to be at Ryan Field and see Josh play a Big 10 school but the best part was watching him run in a touchdown.  We went to the Old Orchard Outdoor Shopping Mall at night to eat at Potbelly's Sandwiches and do a little bit more shopping. We flew home on Sunday.  We are thankful for all of Uncle Josh's hard work so we could go on vacation to see him.  We are also thankful for Grandpa and Grandma Vander Maten who were very helpful and fun to spend the weekend with.  Saylor was a ham the whole trip waving at everyone and cheesing out to whoever waved back.  We couldn't have asked her to be a better traveler.  Good thing we have another trip booked to see Uncle Josh next month!
