Quick Trip to Ohio

We both had a day off from school for parent teacher conferences so we decided to fly to catch Uncle Josh's last far-away football game for USD.  We left early on Friday morning from Sioux Falls.  When we arrived in Minneapolis the plane to Cleveland was already boarded, but they were offering 2 $1,000 vouchers to wait for a 7pm flight.  We decided it was too good to pass up. So, we sent Saylor off to Cleveland with Grandpa and Grandma.  It was very hard to watch our 3 year old fly off without us but she was with some of her favorite people so we knew she was more than fine.  If we had to be stuck anywhere for several hours, Minneapolis was the place for us.  We are very familiar with the airport and the light rail system to get to the Mall of America.  So, after we had our 2,000 dollar vouchers safely in hand, we ventured to the mall for a few hours.

But was a very happy girl all day and we loved spending time spoiling her.

While we were in Minneapolis, Saylor went swimming with Grandma and ate pizza until it was time to pick us up from the airport.  On Saturday Saylor got to go swimming again and then we headed to Youngstown.  We were so hoping the weather reports were wrong for the game, but it seemed like every time we looked it got worse and worse.  It was very cold, windy, a bit rainy and even snowy at times.  We decided it was best to not take Collyns to the game.  Mom and Collyns spent some more quality time together.  We took a really long nap and played all over Uncle John and Aunt Mary's hotel room.

Saylor, Daddy, Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle John, Aunt Mary, Uncle Randy, Aunt Barb and Rob and Cindy went to the Youngstown vs. USD football game.  Saylor napped through the first half bundled in blankets, but was excited during the second half and after the game to see Uncle Josh.

Worth the trip for this smile!

 After the game, we all went to a fun pizza place to eat together.  Then we headed back to the hotel and were thankful for Daylight Savings Time since we had to get up early for our flights home. Yes, it was a bit busy and stressful to fly all the way to Cleveland to not even get to see the football game. BUT, Wade was so glad he got to see one of Josh's last football games and Saylor absolutely loves seeing Uncle Josh.  Saylor also loves traveling in planes, going swimming, staying in hotels, and playing with Grandpa and Grandma.  Plus, family vacations force you to put away all other distractions like watching T.V., cleaning the house, laundry, etc. and just spend quality time together.  We love all our memories on our family trips and there's nothing better than sleeping in a big king bed at the hotel as a one big family - all things that will not last forever.  (And the 2,000 dollars of vouchers doesn't hurt either.)
