Nine Months Old

 

Saylor is nine months old today and she has been busy, busy learning new tricks and how to get around.  She has learned how to crawl, stand up next to furniture, dressers, stools, bookshelves, and really anything that has something she can grab onto and lean against.  She can stand by herself with no support but is definitely better at it when she does it while playing with a toy and not thinking about it.  So, life with Saylor has changed.  The house has been baby proofed and we have to watch her every move.  She's so curious about what everything is, especially the dog food, safety plugs in the outlet, rocks, bottles of lotion, cords, and pretty much anything else that could be dangerous for her to put in her mouth.  Changing her diaper has become quite the chore because she likes to roll over and crawl away.  She's learned how to do "so big" and likes to stick her tongue out and wave it around if you do.  She is also really into pointing.  She points at everything and even wakes up pointing.  Speaking of waking up... Saylor wakes up at night, a lot.  She has not slept through the night at all this month.  She usually wakes up at least twice during the night.  We do have a good summer schedule down and she's been napping really well twice a day and sometimes takes a snooze in the early evening. She still has eight teeth and so she eats mostly baby food with some combinations of "big people" food.  She prefers to self-feed and her favorite things to eat are shredded cheese and lil' crunchies snacks.  She still not crazy about a bath but is crazy about swimming and playing with water (other than in the bath.)  This month we really noticed how fast Saylor is growing and how big she is getting.  She weighed 20 lbs (50th-75th percentile,) 28 1/2 inches tall (75th percentile,) and her head was 17 3/4 inches (75th percentile) at her 9 month check-up. Her personality is starting to show and it's been so fun being able to play and interact with her while she laughs and copies you.

Here comes TROUBLE!
