At 10:30 pm on Tuesday we decided to leave the next morning for another trip to Minneapolis over the Fourth of July since we are about the only people in town who don't have big any plans for the Fourth. The Twins were not in town but it was too hot to sit at a ball game anyway. We did all our other favorite things, though. Of course we went five miles out of our way in Mankato all the way to the Minnesota State University campus just to get Jimmy Johns. Saylor was a trooper on the way up and enjoyed Jimmy Johns as much as her daddy. We did a lot of shopping for new school clothes at the Mall of America, Dicks Sporting Goods, and the Albertville Outlet Mall. Saylor loved walking around (at least the stroller was good for holding our bags) and watching the roller coasters at the mall, especially the new Ninja Turtle ride. We also went swimming at the hotel and walked around Centennial Lake. Our hotel room faced the city so we could watch six different firework displays out our window. It was good to get away, but we are missing our big summer vacation. We haven't gone on a big trip since Saylor was born and she is not the reason we haven't gone away. The summer seems to be slipping away between softball games we didn't want to miss, graduate class, shingling, basketball commitments, and the early start of school. Saylor does have her first airplane trip booked to see Uncle Josh play football and we hope to book more tickets to another game soon. We are hoping some long weekend trips to a few of Uncle Josh's football games this fall will be something to look forward to during the start of the school year.
PS: The camera forgot to make an appearance during most of our trip so this is all we have...
